What we agree when you buy.

Who you are buying from

The seller is Analogue, a House of Alchemy company, registered in Egypt and based in Cairo. Our registration details and how to reach us are on the legal notice. Write to us at info@analogueegypt.com; a person at the workshop reads it.

Prices and VAT

Prices are shown in Egyptian pounds and include VAT at the rate in force. A price shown in another currency is a guide, worked out from the day's rate; the card is charged in Egyptian pounds. The price you pay is the one shown at the checkout when you place the order. If a price on the site is plainly a mistake, we will tell you before we take payment, and you may cancel.

Delivery is charged on top and is shown, with VAT, before you pay. Outside Egypt, customs duties and local taxes are set by the country the parcel enters and are paid by the person receiving it.

Placing an order

An order is placed when you pay. We confirm it by email with an order number. The sale is made when the order is confirmed; until then we may decline an order, for instance when a piece has sold out between the shelf and the checkout, and anything paid is returned in full.

Every piece is made by hand in natural materials. Small variations in colour, texture, weight and finish are part of each piece and are not defects. Photographs on the site show one piece; yours will be its own.

You must be eighteen or older to buy from this website.

Payment

Payment is taken by card on a secure page run by our payment provider; your card details go to them, never to us. An order that is collected from the studio may be paid for there, by card or in cash, at the price shown when it was placed.

Delivery and collection

Pieces travel by courier within Egypt and by FedEx abroad, packed by hand in the workshop. What that costs, how long it takes and what happens if a parcel is damaged on the way are on the delivery page, which is part of these terms. A piece marked for collection is kept at the studio for thirty days.

Refunds and exchanges

A refund is for a piece that arrives defective, reported within two days of delivery. An exchange is open for thirty days. Either way the piece comes back unused, undamaged and in its packaging. The full policy, including what counts as a defect and what is the character of a handmade piece, is the refund and exchange policy, which you accept at the checkout and which is part of these terms.

Made-to-order and commissions

A request for a quote, a custom piece or a project is an enquiry, not an order. We answer with a written quotation that says what will be made, what it costs, how long it takes and what deposit is due. The work is agreed when you accept that quotation in writing and the deposit is paid. A piece made to your specification cannot be exchanged or refunded unless it arrives defective.

Membership

An account is a membership. Points are counted on what you pay, VAT included, once the payment lands, and what the house owes you comes off at the checkout. The rooms, the clocks and what each room gives are set out on the membership page. We may change the programme; a change is announced on that page and never takes away what has already been earned. A refund takes back the points the order earned.

Your account

Your account is yours. Keep your password to yourself and tell us at once if you think somebody else has used it. We may close an account that is used to place orders that are not paid for, or to abuse the people who work here. What we keep about you, and for how long, is on the privacy page.

Designs, words and pictures

The designs of our pieces, and the words, photographs and films on this website, belong to Analogue or to the people who made them for us. Buying a piece buys the piece, not the right to copy it. You may share a picture of it, and we hope you will.

Our responsibility

We are responsible for delivering what you ordered, as described, in the condition described. Where the law allows it, our responsibility for anything arising from a sale is limited to the price you paid for it. Nothing here takes away a right the law gives you as a consumer.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and any dispute we cannot settle between us goes to the courts of Cairo. If one term is found invalid, the rest still stand.

Changes to these terms

We revise these terms when something changes, and the date at the top moves. An order is governed by the terms shown on the day it was placed.
